Guide 5: How to Secure Your CPE

Ensuring your XMC1841E CPE is secure is crucial for protecting your network from unauthorized access.

 

Basic Security Settings:

1. Change Default Password:

· Login to the WebUI and navigate to "User Management".

· Change the default login password to a strong, unique one.



 

WiFi Security:

1. Enable WPA2 Security:

·Go to "Wireless Security Settings".

·Select WPA2 and set a strong password.


 

 

2.MAC Filtering:

·Enable MAC filtering to restrict access to known devices only.



Advanced Security Features:

1. Firewall Settings:

 

· Navigate to "Firewall" and enable the firewall.

 

 

2. Port Filtering and Forwarding:

 

· Configure port filtering and forwarding to control incoming and outgoing traffic.
